Lonnie GrantAcrobatics Teacher

Lonnetta Grant has devoted her life to dance and education. From dance classes throughout her childhood to performances during her teen years, to instructing and choreographing as an adult; “Miss Lonnie”, as she is affectionately called by her students, continually observes the growth and transformation Acro provides for both students and herself.

Lonnie is a Certified Acrobatic Arts Instructor with over 20 years of experience teaching acrobatic dance technique across the United States. Lonnie’s classes teach flexibility, strength & conditioning and choreography; offering foundational technique training applied to a broad range of styles. All classes promote balance, dexterity, instinctual spatial awareness and body positivity in a high-quality, safe training environment.
Her acro-dance choreography has been featured and awarded at various top competitions for outstanding creativity and innovation. Among Miss Lonnie’s hundreds of dance students, many have gone on to dance with renown companies like Alvin Ailey, Dance Institute of Washington, and Debbie Allen Dance Academy.

Lonnie continues to attend trainings, intensives, and professional seminars throughout the year to expand her knowledge, perfect her craft, and equip herself as a consultant to parents and adults looking for resources, education, and jobs within the dance industry.

As a mother of two, Lonnie takes tremendous pride in working with children and teenagers and making a positive impact in the lives of students across the Washington D.C. area.

Star Makers Academy of Dance is extremely proud and honored to have Lonnie as part of our faculty!
